Dan Petty is a two-time Emmy-winning producer, songwriter, and guitar player whose work bridges pop, television, and children’s media. Based in Los Angeles, Dan has collaborated with a widerange of artists including Shawn Colvin, Sinéad O’Connor, Katharine McPhee, Britney Spears,Rick Astley, Lisa Loeb, Dar Williams, Luis Fonsi, LeAnn Rimes, Audra McDonald, and Steve Martin.     

 In 2020, Dan received an  Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song for “UnsaidEmily” from Netflix’s Julie and the Phantoms. He earned his second Emmy in 2022 as part ofthe creative team behind Netflix’s We the People, which won Outstanding Short Form Program.

Dan is the co-creator and executive producer of Kindergarten the Musical for Disney Jr., where he helped develop the series from the ground up—co-writing over 150 original songs, shapingthe show’s visual and emotional tone, and bringing musical storytelling to a new generation ofviewers.

He has also been an integral part of the songwriting team behind some of the most beloved children’s series of the last decade, including Doc McStuffins (Peabody Award winner),Vampirina, Muppet Babies, DC Super Hero Girls, Harvey Street Kids, Wally Kazam, Tots, Club Penguin, See Dad Run, Sydney to the Max, Ada Twist Scientist,Mo Willam's Naked Mole Rat Get's Dressed, and others.

Dan’s work spans genres and formats, with music featured on NBC, ABC, Netflix, Hulu,Amazon, BBC, and many more. He has also created original music for major brands like Starbucks,Aquafina, Virgin Airlines, and Method.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and creative partner Michelle Lewis, their son Jackson,and their golden retriever Milo.
